Hi I've realised the epic legendaryness of Chuck for many a year but recently I've begun playing the greatest hits collection at work and a track that rocks so much is the live reelin and rockin track off the first disc,it gets everyone smiling.does this come from a live album or what is the best live album to buy.theres hits live, live at the fillmore and just "live" theres probably many more but what in peoples opinion has the best energy and sound quality

I think Chuck Berry - Tokyo Session - 1981 (Eastworld / EMI / Toshiba) is the best live album. Great sound to be in the early 80's. It was Chuck Berry's very first tour in Japan:

Check also the shows at Wolfgang's Vault, from 1967:

The awesome Reelin' and Rockin' track you're talking about is originally off of the half live/half studio album 'The London Chuck Berry Sessions'.

Johan, reading your post reminded me to finalize a half-finished entry on the 1967 San Francisco concert in my Chuck Berry Collectors Blog http://www.crlf.de/ChuckBerry/blog/. It contains a few additions to your article. Feel free to link or comment.

Thank's a lot, Dietmar. Very well done. Good information about the '67 shows and Wolfgang's Vault.

I will add Bill Graham was important for the rock music in the late 60's. I appreciate his work very much.

Let It Rock!

Johan :)
