Chuck Berry is headliner on all his shows. He is never a support act. On the shows with Status Quo, both Chuck Berry and Status Quo is headliners. Only mention this so all people who takes information from the forum don't put out it on a wrong way. I hope we soon also have this tour dates confirmed from Berry Park.

It's really great with Chuck Berry / Status Quo shows. Chuck Berry is Status Quo's long time favourite, and they have recorded, Bye, Bye, Johnny (play it on every live show), Carol, You Never Can Tell, and a lot of more Berry stuff.

Here is some adds for the tour we talk about:

11.07 - Norway - TBA (Chuck Berry solo)
12.07 - Sweden - TBA (Chuck Berry solo)
13.07 - Jarvso, Sweden - Stenegard - w. STATUS QUO
14.07 - Stockholm, Sweden - Ulriksdals slott - w. STATUS QUO
15.07 - Linkoping, Sweden - Stangebrohallen - w. STATUS QUO
16.07 - TBA
17.07 - TBA
18.07 - Orebro, Sweden - Brunnsparken - w. STATUS QUO
19.07 - Bastad, Sweden - Tennisstadion - w. STATUS QUO
20.07 - Kalmar, Sweden - Skalby gard - w. STATUS QUO
21.07 - Hassleholm, Sweden - Petva - w. STATUS QUO

They are indeed co-headliners. Status Quo are almost completely unknown in the USA, but no other band in the world has sold as many singles as Status Quo, not even The Rolling Stones.

Apart from that they are huge fans of Chuck Berry. Watch their act if you can!

Supporting Chuck Berry & Status Quo are two artists that are quite big in Sweden:

Sven-Erik Magnusson
Nisse Hellberg

Attendance will vary between 10,000 and 15,000 per show!

Chuck Berry was amazing in stockholm, Wanna thank His band for a great show. Berry is my favorite entertainer, I like playing guitar and like his cool and relaxed guitarplaying. Saw him in stockholm at Berns in January (It was near my 30:th birthday so a concertticket was a great gift)
The highlight from the gig yesterday was "reeling and rockin" a very long version, In january it was not in the set just Houselights. Sweet little sixteen was also nice. :D

Hi!
I'm new here, and this is my first post:-)
I found this forum while searching the web for news/reviews about the latest shows in Sweden. Unfortunately, I can't find much:-( But I guess that will be straighten out as soon as Johan gets home:-)

I've seen 3 of the shows myself. Karlstad, Göteborg and Örebro. Also had a ticket to the show in Lindköping, but that was canceled because of REAL heavy winds as most of you probably know:-(

I was VERY impressed by these 3 shows!! The one in Karlstad kind of "woke me up".. Better than I had hoped for! I saw Chuck in Göteborg this January, and thought THAT was a good show.. and IT WAS!! But he was so much better in Karlstad!! Well.. that's only my personal opinion of course, but I would be a little bit surprised if anyone who was there says anything else:-)

Göteborg was also a GREAT show, but totally different. REALLY fun to see Chuck in such a small "club-gig". It gets more intimate than a big place with thousands of people, and I was happy to be part of a crowd who showed so much appreciation for Chuck!! But.. it was so HOT!! I can imagine that it must have been hotter than hell on stage!! Saw Chuck was a "little" warm, and was afraid the show would be cut short.. but be only joked about the heat, asking them to turn up the heat because it was so cold, and kept on playing:-)

Örebro was OK, and then some:-) The big crowd was hard to please, but Chuck had them all screaming real soon:-):-) Johnny B Goode was done in a BRILLIANT way!! So was Let It Rock, and a few more numbers!! The crowd loved it! But I prefer smaller crowds, because it gets more "real" in a way. I left when Chuck ended his show, so I never saw Status Quo.. But those who likes them was happy about their show as well! I only went there to see Chuck myself...

I must say this.. Daniel Rössing was a BIG surprise to me!! Could not imagine that he would do such a BIG success when I first heard he was going with Chuck on tour.. I had met him once before at a Jerry Lee Lewis show in Paris -06, and knew he was a nice guy and all.. but had NO idea he could play like that!! He was right on the spot all the time, fitted right in with the band, and played like a GOD!! Perfect!!

Seeing these shows has been the highlight of my summer!! The best way possible to spend time and money!! My only regret is that I did not see them all!!

R&R!!!
Svein

Yeah, the club-gig was something extra:-) It was supposed to have been an outdoor gig, but weeks of heavy rain forced them to move it indoors. It was the hottest venue I've ever been in.. I was MELTING!! Anyone who was in there must have LOVED Chuck, or they would have walked right out.. it was THAT hot!! I could not force myself to stay in there while the suport band was playing, so I waited outside for Chuck.

they had moved the show forward WITHOUT telling anyone!! I asked, so I got the info. but Johan would not believe me.. he had gotten other info. so he sat there on his 1st row chair, sweating like a pig, for HOURS!! I was outside having an ice cold coke:-):-) While sitting there, I saw Wolfgang G, and called on him. He walked up to me and wondered if I knew where the venue was:-):-) Wonder if he got to Hässleholm.. he was going to see the Berlin show as well. Hope he'll write something about it here.

I saw Chuck perform in Sweden at Järvsö recently. I been a Chuck fan for a long time. I seen him 7 times since the 80´s. But this night he was better than all of the previous ones. Probably because i could finally hear his guitar as i always wanted to hear it. I could hear everything perfect. Only distraction was Ingrid Berry who made me forget to note the set list ....LOL.

Chuck did "Around & Around", i wanted to hear this live for a long time. It was my highlight!

Glad also to hear Chuck praised Daniel from time to time. I´m sure Daniel is very happy now!!!! I hung out with him in Paris 2006 after Jerry Lee´s show at Olympia. We were most likely the last one awake that night!

Go Chuck Go!

Perk

I `ll never forget the heavy downpour at the Stockholm show. All our clothes were soppy, but it was worth it ! - and no Status Quo gig without Chuck Berry encores...
