An entire container of Salt would be advisable. Sorry reeler and to the rest on reading this. There was some house cleaning that needed to be taken care of.

The originator of this particular topic has a bit of a problem understanding what freedom of speech means on a privately run forum.

What a shame the post was deleted. As you say, this is a public forum, and all topics should be welcome, regardless if they are positive or not. Not be swept under the rug. Does this board only have to be all things nice and sweet?
As long as there is no profanity, why cant the public post what they want CBll?
Its alwIeleting the post doesnt make the issue go away.
I can completely understand your protection of the board, especially considering hes your pop. But this forum should be open to topics all things Chuck related. Its not like this is his first time with legal issues.
Chucks place in music history, is firmly cemented forever. Its just sad that Chuck isnt held to a level as Elvis. IF not at the same level as Elvis, it should be a notch below. And part if that reason is because of "Chuck being Chuck".
Its always a shame that any story we hear about Chuck, invariably in the first few sentences, its how difficult he is, or tight with the dollar, or unethical, etc...a shame.
He is 81, so he is not going to change of course.
So, instead of seeing all this press about a new album, or his tours, or how the world should see this iconic legend before he is no longer with us, its yet another story about Chuck and his issues.
So, you may question how I can be a fan, and post that stuff, the better question, how do I stay a fan with all that stuff? Its cause I accept Chuck for who he is, as we all should. Im not a fan of his personal life, but the music will always carry me.
That wasnt right to delete the post, cause it would be construed as negative...

ChuckFan1,

The REAL issue regarding what stays and what is removed is the fact this is a privately run and controlled presence on the Internet. There are both positive and negative opinions and comments here that have remained since this forum was brought on line. There have been PLENTY of others that were taken off for the reasons similar to but not necessarily exactly like what led to the deletion of you previous post . There's no real need to explain why since the terms and conditions covers that.

I can say this... Your post was taken verbatim from another forum on the Internet so the message is getting a clear view to anyone that finds it. If you found it and posted it here, that proves that the freedom of the Internet and ability to discuss ANYTHING you or others desire to is still very strong and is working perfectly (where allowed). If you on the other hand are the originating author of the post found else where and posted it here (and it was subsequently deleted by the forum), then you have your very own forum to author and post your statements, comments and opinions in a completely unfettered manner there and anywhere else that will allow it.

Thank you for enjoying the music and this forum.

Johan,

Thank you very much. No need to defend your hero's here. History will take care of that.

If you have seen a good show, a so-so show or a bummer show feel free to place your thoughts here. That goes for almost any topic by anyone as long as it's based on proven, settled fact.

Hello Charles

I posted a completely on proven, settled facts based e-mail in which I stated my opinion. But you just deleted it. Which is very much against the rule you earlier made up yourself.

I can publish all facts here as well, but I thought that would not be to polite so I didn't do it.

I also warned you, it's better to let some real fans who care about their hero is taking care of his carreer ventilate their opinion here, than somewhere in the news, or at official forums where the whole world can read what is going on.

A few blind-following fans don't help mr. Berry's carreer. A few critical fans who live in real world and have the right contracts can do a lot of harm to someones carreer. Not our intention, we have been fans for a long time. But it's up to you. As long as you decide to play it that way, you force us to do it that way as well.

Think about before you're gonna take futher action

Oh really?

All the worlds a stage. The one difference here is the stage is just like the one at the Apollo theatre in New York City. The people that run the Apollo determine what goes on and what gets the big long cane. Read the amended terms and conditions very carefully.

Warnings, insults and threats (which all appear in the quoted posting) clearly violate the terms and conditions.

Just what should be done? I have a great idea. Can you guess what it might be?

I want to explain I am not a blind-following Chuck Berry fan. I am a fan of rock'n'roll and all the fathers and kings of rock'n'roll. I don't want to harm them or put any of them in bad light. We fans should tell people around the world they are still around and play their music, like they have done for more than 50 years. We can live with some mistakes from them - if there is mistakes. Remember how lucky we are when we still have these musicans with us and they still play. That is the REALLY important thing in the world of music. Let It Rock!

Johan :)

Your point is well taken Benjamin_From_Germany. However, if Prime Minister Churchill broke the terms and conditions of this forum, actions would be taken to correct the problem.
