Hi,

Chuck Berry will be today guest at Jay Lenos Tonight Show. Does anyone know, if it's possible to see this via Internet. Or could someone put the show in youtube? I'm not able to see this show at TV in Germany...

Thanks
Benjamin

I'm planning to TiVo it. We'll hook you up one way or another.

Of course, BB King was on Tuesday night and I TiVo'd that as well but the show started late and ran over so his performance was chopped off of my recording. Hopefully, I can do a better job this time.

Wow, Chuck did a great job, but it would have been better with his regular band. Chuck really put forth an A+ effort for the national TV audience.

You guys must have seen a difference performance to me. I hate the way he now spits out the lyrics out of meter and stabs away at the guitar - usually the wrong notes. Please don't say "He's 82 you know". I know that and I've loved the guy's music for years. But performances like this prove to me that it's time to call it a day. I thought it was pretty awful.

And? Is it a problem to have a different opinion? Be honest and have a second look at the video. Chuck's guitar 'playing' is next to inexistent. Whatever comes out of his guitar has nothing to do with the song - And I really LIKE the original recording! Also his singing misses all of the melody of the original. So just like Chuckie Boy I am disappointed when Chuck acts as a parody of himself such as in this show. Sorry!

Chuck created some of the nicest recordings of the rock music and authored a number of its greatest songs. But seeing him downplay these songs worse and worse over the last 40 years really hurts.

There's an old story about Chuck refusing to "dance" (playback) to his music in Dick Clark's Bandstand show. But seeing a performance like the one at Jay Leno's I wish he'd learned better.
