Hey guys

I just got back from seeing Chuck play at the Long Beach Blues Festival. What an awsome show it was to see. He didn't have Jim on bass or his son on rythm guitar, but the guys that were up were good all around. As a matter of fact there was no rythm guitar player so Chuck just filled in rythm and lead as he's so good at doing.

Show was excellent, his Gibson 355 guitar sounded powerful and had a nice crunch to it. Vocals sounded good, his playing was very solid with some good soloing....Thank God For Chuck Berry

he always could get good crowds. i've seen him in front of 16,000 pls

Lots of stuff on YouTube. Just type in Chuck Berry and Long Beach Blues Fest. On Johnnie B Goode is when he had the girls come up to dance. There is one gal who kinda follows Chuck all over the stage. Chuck seems to be trying to get away from here a few times.

Ive never liked that part. The way the show ends. Chuck having people come up to dance. Is it an insecurity thing? Someone of Chucks stature and legacy shouldnt have to resort to that. Let Little Richard do that kind of stuff.

I think Chuck just playing House Lights, throwing in a few solos, and leaving the stage says it all.
