I was helping my dad, 63, do some yard work and he started up the mower and pushed it about twenty feet or so. He does half, I do half. I was cutting up branched to bundle and toss. He stops and just stands there, blank eyes, the mower quits. Something is wrong.
He has to go sit down but is in no pain. He is okay after an hour back inside. He's still okay. This is maybe... seven, eight months ago.
It dawned on me, even though I had pushed it out of my mind often enough- my dad is old. He won't be around forever. That's the same day I felt that I was old, or at least older than I once was.
It's a hell of a feeling. I don't like it.
anyway, if you love someone, help them while you can and spend all the time you can with them.
On to Chuck- I was cruising the information super-highway and found this bit
Says that Chuck used banjo strings (?) on his guitar to get those easy bends in the 50s. Is this true? Is so, what strings in what gauges (ei- 4th in .06???). If it is not true, what strings does he use?
CBII, this may be your chance to put this issue to rest once and for all. Hope Mr. Berry is feeling better.
