This fabulous stick man played drums in the Dave Brubeck Quartet for many years. He was 82 years young.

Hey Butch. For years, before Vic Firth developed the Charlie Watts Signature stick, Charlie played the old Ludwig 11A Joe Morello hickory drumsticks. Joe ran an ad in the back of Modern Drummer magazine offering drum lessons. I called him up and he told me he no longer used the Joe Morello sticks, but rather the 5A drumstick, I forget the brand, it wasn't Vic Firth. I remember reading that Joe went to a Stones concert during the Steel Wheels tour and met Charlie backstage.
