"In May, US cinema-goers will have the chance to see footage from the Beatles' first US concert that has been out of circulation for more than forty years.

The recording of the performance, which took place May 11, 1864 in Washington DC, is the focus of the new documentary The Beatles: The Lost Concert.

The film and the thirty-minute concert – during which the Fab Four perform 12 songs, including She Loves You and Twist and Shout – will be screening in select US cinemas on May 17 and 22.

Restored and re-mastered, the resurfaced footage is part of a documentary about the rise of the Beatles in the US featuring journalists, specialists and musicians including Chuck Berry, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith and Nick Valensi of The Strokes.

Before arriving in US theatres, the film will get a New York premiere on May 6. No international release dates have so far been announced."

Can't wait to see it!
