Oh what a thrill to see BOTH St. Louis birthday shows-- and thanks to everyone around St. Louis for all the help. Cheiskeith does a great job summing up the BBH show. I do a more long winded version on my blog. (I'm good at long winded!
The shows were different as night and day, but both were lots of fun. Again-- thanks all! Peter
I know my post is a few weeks after the show, but I've only now recovered : Wow.
What else can I say? I realized about 3/4 of the way through I couldn't stop smiling, I was having such a great time. It was very surreal to me, after having been traveling since 4:30AM that morning to finally be in St. Louis - in the Duck Room - to see Chuck Berry. I was fortunate enough to sit in the third row and had a great seat and was really energized by the activity in the crowd - from Mr. "WOO WOO" Cubs fan in the front row standing up and dancing around to those in the aisles grooving to the tunes - I felt like I was taking part of something very special, and it was a real treat to meet CBII and see him and his sister perform on stage. They are all very very talented musicians and I can't wait to come back again soon!
A few other things - I HIGHLY recommend staying at the Moonrise - pizza from Pi across the street from the Moonrise, and the burgers at Blueberry Hill cannot be beat!
Thanks CBII, Mr. Chuck Berry, and those whom I met in St. Louis for making this one of the most pleasurable and memorable trips!
