Our youngest son finally turned 21 last month, so we waisted no time obtaining tickets for the May 16th show at the Duck room. I, the mother of this brainchild of a trip and wife and mom of said travelers, am staying home to milk the goats, but retain the desire to see Chuck perform someday, hopefully at a venue where I can take my two young charges, who at their tender ages of 2 & 5, can sing Johnny B. Goode without a hitch.
Anyway, the guys are packing now, preparing to leave Jackson California tomorrow morning. They will take Route 66, getting lots of kicks along the way, and plan to visit historical familial sites along the way many of which are in Missouri. This is the first trip of its kind for any of us! ( Actually one of them walked across the country, S.F. to D.C., but that is another story and he didn't go through Missouri or the southern states ).
The whole trip is planned around seeing Chuck and he is the only worthy attraction in St. Louis, the only thing they are lacking is advice on parking for the show and perhaps a budget hotel where they can shower before and sleep afterward, if you have any suggestions, please let us know!
Love to you, Chuck Berry, and thank you for the gift of Rock n Roll!
