Folks--

I wanted to tell you about my “book” (unbound, online, free, with no advertising, and worth every penny!) It’s about Chuck Berry-- sort of. It gives my own interpretation about why he matters, how he changed the world as a songwriter, guitarist, showman and business man, how he really did help deliver us from some bad old times. But it’s also about how he affects the sort of folks who show up at this website. I first saw Chuck Berry perform at a nearly empty auditorium in February 1971. The next day I bought his Golden Decade album. He’s been with me ever since. (Call it an illness. Not the worst I can think of.) So in addition to talking about why Chuck matters, my book tries to figure out why he matters so much to ME. And hey-- I figure we’ve all got imaginary friends.
