There is a new Chuck Berry 3-CD album set for release, May 7. It's total 56 songs and the cover is great. I have a cover picture on my recent updated site:

Thanks. A very solid set.

Personally, I'd have liked the set to be the 'Complete Mercury Recordings' It's criminal that those recordings have yet to see a CD release (unless you know something I don't?).

they were released on CDs Johan, yes
but again, the issue is the same: they're unfidable and Universal don't release them again.
why did they stop their job they began in 2004?
thanks to BGO that released many original Chess Albums (i recommend this label to you to find all the albums you need [or at least many of them]. click on the link : BGO Records)

Of course I want a complete Chuck Berry Mercury box set with nice covers etc. I'm 100 % with you, St. Louis Blues. They really should put out a lot more of Chuck's albums and songs. I'm just glad I got these CD's with bonus tracks from 1989. In addition, I also got the old original albums from the late 60's. Nice things to put on my record machine when "my heart will always belong to my baby" or I want to go "back to Mempis" (or more like St. Louie!). "So Long".

Johan :)

I heard a while back that Universal were working on a box-set to contain ALL the Chess and Mercury recordings - including unreleased alternate takes. Andy McKie was the guy in charge of this project. Since first hearing about this (about two years ago) I've heard nothing more.

Sad news is that the complete box set you talk about will not come to be released.

Johan :(
