Well im just back from Maryport and Mr Chuck Berry has a whole new bunch of younger fans after that show. Never really been a fan, i was aware of his music and always quite liked it and him but never really played it.
But thats all changed now! Ive seen hundreds of bands over the years but this guy was one of the best i have seen and at 81 as well, i was quite amazed.
Bad news for the spanish fans, hope all goes well for Chuck.
Does anyone know if he is scheduled to play in Europe again this year?
Thanks

The tour dates in Spain have been cancelled (except July 13, which took place in Cordoba and I was lucky enough to attend).

However, there must be something really bad going on, because he got 18,000 euros (about 24,000 dollars which he did not return) for the Carracedo concert which was cancelled and flew back to Chicago without giving any explanation.

I hope there is an explanation soon because I think that we, the fans, do not deserve to be treated this way .

If he is not okay, I hope he recovers soon. Chuck, dont take it to heart, we all love you, thats why we feel so ticked off when your concerts are cancelled.

Now i read that it wasn't Chuck Berries health condition being the reason of the cancelation of two concerts,
but a conflict with his daughter. This was because he wanted to drive 200 kmh over the English highway. Is this true?

Is it also true that some posts of wguhl were taken from the forum? Why is that?
Anyway i wish Chuck Berry the best and hope to see him in Baltimore!

Hello Niels

I heard the same story about the real reason of all the cancelled shows. Beside that, in many newpapers you could read an article that Chuck was seen in fine condition in some bars in the USA. I will see if I can find the link somewhere. Beside that, if you do a quick google on "Chuck Berry cancelles shows" so see that he will be sued and that INTERPOL is involved now. When someone cancelles shows due to illnes, that doesn't happen. INTERPOL only gets involved when you're accused of stealing money etc.

It is also true that some of Wguhl messages were taken of this forum. It's a bit like in communistic countries in the past, they censor everything and that way they show a fake situation to the outside world. Lucky enough most of us are smart enough to understand and find out what is going on.

Oh, the Istanbul show for august 15th has just been cancelled as well. Health problems... wondering how long it will take before we discover the real reason.

Good luck to mr. Berry and his company. Real bizz people ;)
Niek
