BBC recorded a fantastic concert at Shepherd's Bush Theatre in 1972. Does anyone know, if it's possible to get this on DVD or something else?
It's annoying to watch this on youtube....
Ben,
there are some strange things going on with this concert. As you wrote, it has been recorded and broadcast by BBC in 1972. Since then it has been re-broadcast from time to time by various TV channels. Due to this, private video tapes exist, probably also private DVD copies. There has never been an official release or even a factory-manufactured bootleg.
The corresponding audio tracks have an even more complicated story. In 1973 one single song (South of the/her border) was released by Chess as the flip side of the UK single Bio. Most of the remaining songs later appeared on a bootleg album called Six Two Five (that was the name of the TV show). These bootlegs exist under various labels sich as Maybellene Records or Driving Wheel, including records on coloured Vinyl. Many years later the bootleg album was re-released on an Italian CD, bootlegged as well. Since then, you find the audio recording on many budget CDs, even some officially sold in record stores or on amazon, e.g. this one:
