Chuck Berry Blueberry Hill February 15, 2012

Here's the setlist -

Chuck is introduced by friend and Blueberry Hill Owner Joe Edwards.

Down The Road I Go
CB opens with a Blues number with Ingrid on harp.

Nadine
My favorite CB song and an outstanding version !! :D

Between songs CB tells how his drummer - Keith Robinson likes KFC chicken. :D And Joe always
keeps it on hand before the show, and that you have to get there early before its........

Jambalaya

Mean Old World
Again with Ingrid again joining on harp.

Wee Wee Hours

Around and Around

My Ding a Ling
With a hilarious verse that had the crowd rolling !!

Sweet Little Sixteen

Blues Instrumental

Promised Land
just a verse or two - but great to hear !! :D

Johnny B. Goode
with a Scoot !!

Roll Over Beethoven
Just a little of the refrain......

Let It Rock !!
with a verse of Johnny B. throwed in .....

Rockin Instrumental
That ended the evening with girls dancing onstage and
Ingrid introducing the Band while they play on......

Chuck Berry
Lead Guitar and Vocals

CB's St. Louis Band Members

Darlin Ingrid Berry Clay
CB's daughter on Harmonica

Charles Berry Jr.
aka - CBII - the Son of Rock on Rhythm Guitar

Jimmy Marsala
The Bands Leader on Bass - he's been with CB for 39 years....

Bob Lohr
Piano Keyboard

Keith Robinson
Drums

Chuck was having alot of fun during this show, moving all over the stage. Near the end of the show he "Bunny Hopped" halfway across the stage !! :D The highlights of the evening were Nadine - Johnny B. Goode and Let It Rock and the hilarious verse during Ding a Ling!!

A special Thanks to our friends Karen and Judy the Mayors of Blueberry Hill. We awlays have a great time with you all.... :D :D :D

Did I mention I met my friend "Tulane" - Peter O'Neil for the first time and his wife Rebecca a few days later. I joined Peter on a road trip to Memphis between Concerts - Krazy !! We had alot of fun...... Peter remarked - "I was the first person he had ever met that we could talk about Chuck for 2 hours straight" !!

I will add pictures when I have time.....

For a rundown of events at Blueberry Hill and Chuck's show at the Argosy Casino see Tulane's blog at -

Thank you so much for both reviews :P
It must have been fun to meet Peter O'. I was happy to hear that you even got inside the Royal Studio.
I don't know who was driving but you drove up on the wrong bridge in Memphis.
Hernando de Soto Bridge is from 1973.
You should have been half mile from Memphis & Arkansas Bridge to look for Marie's home  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memphis_% 26_Arkansas_Bridge
I look forward to see your pictures from the concerts and the trip!

Peter

Other Peter--

It's not always the driver. Sometimes it's the navigator. But in this case it was indeed the driver who said to snap the picture.

Maybe we were trying to be half a mile from the right bridge. I think we were!

But next time you can drive. (We'll need a van.)

Hello All, :D Peter K, I was trying to focus on the road and the signage but Tulane "other Peter" is such a jabber-box, he was distracting me from my job of guiding us with "Chuck this and Chuck that" banter all the way from St. Louis to Memphis and back, so I played along......  Here's some pictures not very good, wish I had Marilyn along to take over the photography duties......

Not very good, he says! These are GREAT Doug! As for the driving, I was too frightened by incoming rolls to concentrate. Just my luck that some guy in Sweden knows U.S. geography better than me and has to point out that I was off by a bridge or two, or a decade or two. (Go Head On! ain't the New York Times.)

Doug, you have nothing to be ashamed of. You have once again reviewed a show better than a professional journalist and photographer. Thanks for all the nice pictures and information.

Peter

Doug, this makes me think back to our trip in 2007.
I missed the spots in Wentzville that you photographed and toilet at Sun Studio  .
It must have felt wonderful to go into the Royal Studio, which was closed when I was there.
Memphis Slim's house looked the same in 2007. Beale Street has a great atmosphere in the evenings with lots of live music.
Thanks for all the wonderful pictures you have uploaded.

Fox Theatre has changed a little since 1986.
